What is Oolong Tea?
Oolong (or wu long) is a semi oxidized tea that has been used in the eastern world since the 19th century. Oolong tea tastes similar to green tea, and still has that little bit of caffeine to keep you going in the morning. The real benefit for us skin scratchers is that it is full of anti-oxidants which help protect our skin dramatically.
“Oolong tea has been researched on treating eczema, and it does take a good amount of the tea to affect the outbreak. However, after drinking about a liter of this type of tea every day, some people may show significant improvement and may reduce or completely eradicate inflammation and itching.
Why does oolong tea have this effect? This tea contains antioxidant polyphenols that have specific properties that help to alleviate allergic reactions and to quiet an unnecessary immune system response.”
Oolong tea is not only good for eczema, but has also been linked to assisting in weight loss, reducing cholesterol, preventing heart problems, aiding in digestion, strengthening your immune system, and a lot more!
